Here’s one way to be a successful leader!
It’s about being a continuous learner. Not just in the book sense of learning, most of us have done a lot of school and technical learning. This is about learning through self-reflection.
What does that mean?? You might be thinking.
It starts with having a mindset that:
1. There is no perfect and
2. Therefore you can always do better
Continuous learning is taking time to reflect on your day, or a meeting or interaction you just had and asking your three things.
1. What was good about how I did today, that meeting etc.?
2. What wasn’t so good? (Did I receive the result or outcome I wanted in the way that I wanted, could I have done this better?)
and
3. How can I do better next time? (What specific action or action would I want to try the next time?)
This is one way to grow your personal leadership skills which over time will allow you to become more masterful of all those leadership traits like:
1. being accountable
2. taking responsibility
3. practicing healthy communication skills
4. showing integrity and authenticity
5. showing empathy
Remember you don’t have to be in a leadership role to take these steps, leadership is a mindset and you can use these principles as much in your daily life as in work regardless of your position or title.
