Whether you are a supervisor, a manager or higher position, once you are a people leader, you must learn supervisory leadership skills. 

People managers are an important and critical group to any organization.

  • They perpetuate the culture of the organization. 

Therefore companies rely on the ability of their people managers for not only on the what (the results that they must bring) but on the how (the way in which things are done, how people are treated with etc.). All of which greatly impacts a company’s reputation and success in the long term.

This is why we have created this unique Supervisory Leadership program which provides the tools and the coaching to support implementation during the six month program.

What You’ll Learn

  1. Self Awareness – The Root of Personal and Professional Development and Growth
    The first principle of good leadership is to “know thyself” Socrates. How can we work effectively and lead others when we are stymied by some of our own issues? This module sets us up to succeed in leading by first leading ourselves.
  2. Communicating with Emotional Intelligence:
    There has been a lot of training on Emotional Intelligence but how many of us are actually applying this in our day to day conversations. This module will take care of this gap, thereby improving your work relationships and reducing the stress of working with “difficult” people.
  3. Managing vs Leading People and Teams: With so much focus on leadership today, people leaders can feel confused about when to manage and when to lead. This will remove the guesswork and thereby improve your confidence as a people leaders.
  4. Goal Setting and Creating Accountability in Your Team
    If we want better and consistent results, we must learn how to do this step better. Creating worthy goals and having strong accountability in our teams are the keys. This module will clarify some missteps and improve the quality of the performance management process.
  5. Giving and Receiving Feedback
    A critical downfall to leading effectively is skipping this step. We will deepdive into why we don’t do this as often as we should, and provide tools and the practice needed to make this a more natural and habitual part of the working relationship.
  6. Motivating Your Team to Achieve
    Most people want to start here, however in this program we end here as we believe that once leaders have these foundational skills, only then does the motivation discussion make more sense.

Resulting in:

  • Greater confidence and empowerment as a people leader.
  • Renewed motivation and drive to handle tough situations and people.
  • Enhanced “toolbox” and skillset for managing and leading.

What to Expect

  • Highly interactive and thought-provoking group workshop sessions blending teaching and group coaching to allow for learning and for application.
  • Specific group coaching sessions with a trained leadership and executive coach to support application and accountability for implementation of tools, as well as cross-functional learning.
  • A safe space to explore and uncover awareness of self through reflection exercises, group share and creative writing exercises.
